Festival Coast Live is here!
There is something for everyone this summer during a summer long fun filled summer extravaganza across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole as Festival Coast Live ratches up the heat to bring music, dance, art, films and more to the Coast with the Most, offering FREE entertainment to both locals and holidaymakers alike.
The last 18 months have been tough for everyone and it is this that inspired the Conservative led administration on BCP council to approve a further £750,000 into the existing cultural budget as a way of bringing all our communities and towns together, further enhancing our reputation as a world class city region showcasing ambition and helping bring confidence back to local business.
Festival Coast Live! is a FREE event led by Conservative Councillor Beverley Dunlop, lead member for the festival. Speaking with Cllr Dunlop about how the event came about she told BCP Matters “When I shared my vision of a festival to Cllr Mellor (the Leader of the Council) as a way of helping the whole community get their mojo back, and at the same time help kick start the local economy, he straight away recognised the benefits this would bring to the whole area, we have been amazed at what we have achieved in such a short time and I have to thank all the people involved in the project”.
With just over 700 hundred FREE events taking place over the summer, Festival Coast Live! benefits from being out doors and in multiple locations, the festival showcases local talent and local performers with a raft of cultural entertainment from Mardi Gras Quintet on Poole Quay, a FREE family viewing of “The Little Mermaid” on the big screen in the lower gardens to Classic Cars at The Quomps, Christchurch. Events also take place in many other locations across the BCP area including parks, gardens, squares and sea fronts.
With so many local artists taking part its great to support them and the local businesses in the area, Festival Coast Live! Is on now and runs summer long, you can find out more about the festival at https://festivalcoastlive.co.uk/ where you can also download the festival App.
