Household Support Fund

Supporting our local communities over the winter months

The coronavirus pandemic has had a negative impact on many people who are struggling financially as a result.

We’ve launched our Together We Can Household Support scheme to help vulnerable families and individuals across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole with access to food and support in paying energy bills.

If you are in financial hardship and need support to afford food

There are a number of ways to access food in your local community through local foodbanks, fridges and pantries.

Find out what community food providers are close to you using our community food map.

If you are a household with children, you may be eligible for food vouchers to support your family during the school holidays. Food vouchers are being provided to households with children through early years settings, schools and colleges.

If you are in financial hardship and need support to keep warm in your home

Call Citizens Advice BCP on 01202 081732 and leave a message, or visit www.citizensadvicebcp.org.uk/winterwarmthsupport/.

If you are struggling to pay for the cost of heating, lighting and cooking in your home, or you are struggling to pay your water and sewerage bills, then a range of support is available from Citizen’s Advice BCP and other partners.

Holiday childcare support

During the Christmas school holidays a scheme providing free holiday activity places is available for eligible families with children aged 5 to 16 years old.

Helping out in your local community

Our partners would very much welcome donations of items such as food or your time as a volunteer to help vulnerable people in your community this winter.

Together We Can helpline

If you are currently self-isolating and vulnerable and do not have local friends and family to help you, then please contact our helpline. We can assist with food and other essential items.

The dedicated helpline is 0300 123 7052 and will be open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday and from 9am to 4.30pm on Fridays.
