Sir David Amess MP: Funeral to be held at central London cathedral

Official arrangements have now been revealed for the funeral of an MP who was killed.

The funeral of murdered Conservative MP Sir David Amess will be at Westminster Cathedral on Tuesday, November 23.

Cardinal Vincent Nichols, the leader of Roman Catholics in England and Wales, will preside at the 10:30am service.

The father of five was killed while meeting constituents at Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh earlier this month.

Sir David, 69, was attacked shortly after midday while carrying out duties in his Southend West constituency.

Ali Harbi Ali, 25, has been charged with the murder of MP Sir David Amess.
