Tackling Homelessness continued: BCP Conservative plans to launch a pilot scheme making lockers available to people sleeping rough in Bournemouth Town Centre…

Although the incidences have reduced, visible rough sleeping is still going on and individuals are still leaving their belongings unattended in the doorways of shops in our town centre. This is a security risk and a potential health hazard, with the added problem of belongings being stolen or getting wet in poor weather. In the next couple of months we plan to launch a pilot scheme making lockers available to people sleeping rough in Bournemouth Town Centre. We hope this will reduce the items left unattended on the streets and at the same time support rough sleepers attend appointments and access services without having to take all their belongings with them.
