The storms over the weekend, which were not forecast have caused many tree related issues across BCP and beyond.
The openspaces/Parks teams have working to resolve the issues. Our two contractors, IdVerde and Upton’s were out from around 9 am Sunday until 11 pm last night and then again from first thing this morning.
Main routes were prioritised, including in Bournemouth:
W Overcliff Drive completed today
Alum Chine – ongoing, will hopefully be complete by end of today
Moor Avenue – ongoing, will be completed tomorrow morning
Wimborne Cemetery – fallen tree taped off, non urgent, will be completed asap
Broadway – Cleared from highway, team to return tomorrow to collect timber
Bradpole Rd Play Area – ongoing. Made safe but some hanging branches remain in tree so team to return tomorrow to remove hangars.
Swanmore rd – dangerous tree felled completed this afternoon.
Poole:
Gravel Hill, Upton Bypass, Poole Lane, Arrowsmith Rd, Blandford Rd Hamworthy and many more.
Christchurch – 2 jobs outstanding, both non urgent and on Chewton Common Rd
The problem is that we may have been asked to clear a fallen branch / tree which is not considered to be a danger or preventing access and so those jobs will be at the back of the queue whilst we deal with roads, pavements and danger to property / public. If you are concerned about specific issues, please contact Councillor Mark Anderson and he will check with the teams that we are on that particular issue.
